✍️ Summer of Peer Review is at the Halfway Point!
Our Summer of Peer Review series has generated wonderful conversations throughout the summer. The 14-part series is halfway through: articles 6 and 7 post this week and next. I hope you have been enjoying this! The series will conclude on September 17, completing a comprehensive exploration of peer review from the perspectives of reviewers, editors, and authors.
The timing couldn’t be better. The series concludes just as Peer Review Week begins, and we’ll continue the conversation with a special CAMPOREE on Friday, September 18, based on my presentation at the INANE Annual Conference:
AI Is Not the Reviewer: Reframing Editorial Use of Artificial Intelligence
The session will explore practical, responsible uses of artificial intelligence in editorial decision making while emphasizing an important principle: AI can assist editors—but AI is not the reviewer. If you’ve been following the Summer of Peer Review articles, this CAMPOREE will serve as a fitting conclusion to the series. Registration will be open soon!
🌲 Share Your Scholarship Through a Trail Pack
We’re now planning Trail Packs for the remainder of 2026, and we’re looking for authors who would like to showcase their scholarship.
Trail Packs begin with a previously published article, then expand its reach through a companion essay and a podcast or video conversation. This approach—what we call dual dissemination—helps scholarship reach new audiences through multiple, complementary communication formats.

🎉 Virtual INANE Is Almost Here!
The INANE Annual Conference is just around the corner—August 6–8—and registration remains open.
This year’s virtual conference features an outstanding program on nursing editing, publishing, peer review, and scholarly communication. There are 3 keynote sessions, 2 panel presentations, 16 knowledge sessions, and the Margaret Comerford Freda Leadership Address on the topic of “Promoting High-Quality Manuscript Submissions.”
