Writer’s Camp Qualified Peer Reviewer Credential

The Writer’s Camp Qualified Peer Reviewer Credential combines guided learning with demonstrated performance in scholarly peer review.

Participants read the 14-article Summer of Peer Review series published by Writer’s Camp in 2026; watch the one-hour Writer’s Camp Camporee “Go for the Gold: Being an Outstanding Peer Reviewer”; pass a 35-item knowledge assessment with a score of 80% or higher; complete an authentic peer-review practicum; and have that practicum independently evaluated by a Writer’s Camp Counselor using a standardized 100-point rubric, with a score of 80% or higher required to pass.

Successful completion of the credential is expected to take approximately 10 hours. Participants may work at their own pace, stopping and returning as needed; progress is saved to their Writer’s Camp account.

Choose Your Registration Option

QPR Credential — $50: Complete the full program and earn the Writer’s Camp Qualified Peer Reviewer Credential.

QPR Credential + 15 Contact Hours — $75: Complete the same program and earn the same credential, plus 15 nursing continuing education contact hours. Contact hours are approved by the New Jersey State Nurses Association and administered by Fairleigh Dickinson University, Henry Becton College of Nursing and Allied Health.

Documentation of Qualification

Upon successful completion, participants receive an email documenting the requirements of the Writer’s Camp Qualified Peer Reviewer credential and their successful completion, including their scores on the knowledge assessment and peer review practicum. A permanent record of completion is also maintained in the participant’s Writer’s Camp account.

Participants who select the contact-hour option will receive their continuing education certificate by email from staff at Fairleigh Dickinson University, Henry Becton College of Nursing and Allied Health, after successful completion of the course.

This documentation may be shared with employers, journal editors, academic programs, or others as evidence of peer review education and demonstrated competency.

Participants who successfully complete the credential may list Writer’s Camp Qualified Peer Reviewer on their CV, résumé, professional profile, or other professional materials.

Every Qualified Peer Reviewer receives a Writer’s Camp Peer Reviewer magnet by mail after successful completion. A mailing address will be collected during registration.
