Writer’s Camp Editorial Education brings together three learning opportunities designed to demystify scholarly publishing and help people learn to review, edit, and lead.

Writer’s Camp Qualified Peer Reviewer is a self-paced, competency-assessed program for people who want to become skilled, confident peer reviewers.
Learn how editing works
Editorial Leadership Intensive: Foundations of Editorial Practice offers 10 live, one-hour Friday Lunch-and-Learn sessions for people who want to understand scholarly journal editing and pathways into editorial work. No previous editorial experience is required.
Learn to lead
Editorial Leadership Intensive: Journal Systems & Governance is designed for people preparing for, entering, or already holding journal leadership roles. It approaches the journal as a system and develops the judgment needed to lead, govern, and sustain it.
These programs form a connected pathway, but they are not prerequisites for one another. Start where you are and choose what fits your next step.

Is this the same material or program that is covered in the extra day at INANE in person?
Thanks for asking, Jamie! The Foundations of Editorial Practice course is completely new, so that material has not been offered previously at INANE or Writer’s Camp.
Journal Systems & Governance is the course we first offered at Writer’s Camp last May.
INANE has also offered E3 (Extreme Education for Editors) as a separate educational program around two previous in-person conferences—before the conference in 2019 and after it in 2025. I don’t know yet whether anything similar is planned around the 2027 in-person conference.
