The National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN) is seeking a part-time Acquisitions Editorial Consultant for the Journal of Nursing Regulation (JNR), the official journal of NCSBN. The remote independent contractor role (~20 hours/week) focuses on manuscript acquisition, author recruitment, editorial development, and strategic growth of the journal’s author community. Responsibilities include identifying emerging regulatory topics, networking with potential authors, evaluating submissions, and helping authors develop manuscripts prior to peer review. The position reports to the journal’s senior managing editor and collaborates closely with editorial and policy leadership at NCSBN. Candidates should have experience in scholarly publishing and strong editorial and communication skills.
