Opportunity: Editor Position — Australian Critical Care

The Australian College of Critical Care Nurses (ACCCN) is seeking expressions of interest for an Editor position with the journal Australian Critical Care. The Editor works with the Editor-in-Chief and editorial team to support the peer-review process, help guide the journal’s strategic direction, and promote high-quality scholarship in critical care practice.

The journal uses a distributed editorial structure, with an Editor-in-Chief supported by several Editors who share responsibility for managing submissions and peer review. This makes the role a good opportunity for scholars who are interested in gaining editorial experience without taking on full Editor-in-Chief responsibilities.

Applicants should have a strong background in critical care clinical practice along with an active research or scholarly profile, publication experience, and familiarity with peer review. A doctoral qualification (or equivalent experience) is required. The appointment is for a four-year term (with review after the first year). Although the position is not salaried, some financial support is available for editorial work and related professional development.

Note: Applicants do not need to live in Australia or be based in Australia to apply.

📅 Applications close April 24, 2026. Please see the attached PDF for full details and application instructions.
